Darren “Ginge”,

Boss Man, Co-owner,
Qualified Diesel Mechanic

From a young age, Darren's passion for mechanics set him on a clear career path. After completing his schooling, he undertook a pre-trade course at WelTec and gained valuable hands-on experience with Cable Price Ltd. He went on to complete apprenticeships with both Cable Price Ltd and Central Forklifts in Lower Hutt, developing skills across a wide range of vehicles and machinery.

Darren achieved a National Certificate in Automotive Heavy Engineering, which opened doors to senior roles within the industry. Over the years, he has worked as a Leading Hand, Workshop Foreman, and later became self-employed before taking on the role of Fleet Manager for a building company. In this position, he oversaw the operation and maintenance of construction equipment and trucks, ensuring fleet reliability and efficiency.

With extensive experience in heavy machinery, trucks, and construction equipment. Darren has developed a deep understanding of the mechanical industry. His broad skillset allows him to confidently tackle a wide variety of challenges and deliver solutions with expertise.


Both inside and outside of the workshop Darren is a passionate speedway supporter. He enjoys mentoring younger drivers, sharing his knowledge on car set ups, maintenance, and repairs to help racers succeed. Over the years, he has sponsored local drivers in a range of classes. Darren currently provides engineering support to the Wellington Wildcats Superstock Team and the Wellington Young Guns Stockcar Team. In addition, he recently began giving back to the sport by becoming a Speedway New Zealand Scrutineer.

Darren is Dedicated to delivering exceptional service to every customer, whether an individual or a business. He believes in building strong, lasting Relationships and ensuring all clients receive professional, reliable, honest and affordable support.

Co-owner


As Co-Owner of AAA Mechanical, Candi plays a vital role is shaping the future of the business. While she isn't involved in Day-To-Day operations, her strategic input and guidance is valuable to the team.

Candi brings a fresh perspective, offering thoughtful insights that help guide important decisions and ensure the business stays true to its goals. Her ability to view operations from the outside provides balance, innovation and clarity, helping the company grow and continuously improve.

In her role, she manages a wide range of responsibilities, from processing invoices, handling emails, preparing pricing and entering parts into the system, to overseeing the business's social media pages and website.

Beyond administration, she isn't afraid to get hands on; assisting in the workshop by organising tools, sorting parts and supporting services when needed. She has also gained valuble on-site experience, helping with servicing work for customers. Chelsea is quick to pick up new skills and put them into practice, she shows strong dedication to learning and contributing wherever she can.

Her positive attitude, adaptability and eagerness to grow makes Chelsea a highly valued member of the AAA Mechanical Team.

Alison

Apprentice Mechanic

Alison comes to us from Scotland.

Keen to learn the trade Alison has taken to the workshop with ease attempting any task given to her, she show great promise and uses her initiative in the workshop, with a mechanic in her family she semi familiar with the goings on in the workshop, always cracking jokes or making smart comments, but ensuring she does the job to the best of her ability.

Assisting Darren, learning to look up parts and pricing parts makes Alison a valued team member,
